This year, the research and monitoring efforts carried out by Madagasikara Voakajy have led to important progress for two emblematic species: the Tarzan chameleon and the Pronki gecko.

According to the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, which classifies species based on their risk of extinction, these two species are no longer listed as “Critically Endangered” but as “Endangered.” This means their situation remains serious, but their risk of disappearing is now slightly lower than before. This progress shows that the actions carried out in the field are bringing results, thanks to close collaboration with local communities.

To continue these results and address the ongoing threats, Madagasikara Voakajy is launching a fundraising campaign in partnership with Conservation Allies. Every contribution will be doubled, immediately increasing the impact of your support.

Your donation will help strengthen scientific studies, restore degraded natural habitats, support local communities in sustainable practices, and improve the protection of key biodiversity areas. For twenty years, Madagasikara Voakajy has worked alongside communities to safeguard Madagascar’s unique nature. Your support is essential to continue these efforts.

The campaign is open until December 31, 2025.
