World Environment Day
Madagasikara Voakajy participated in World Environment Day activities in four different localities where we have ongoing conservation projects.
In the Melaky Region we sponsored the regional World Environment Day celebrations and held events in both Antsalova and Bekopaka. School children participated in education events to learn about the endemic species in the nearby Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park and then created face masks of the different animals for a competition.
In the Alaotra Mangoro Region we provided education materials, a film and some sponsorship for events in Moramanga and villages in the Anosibe An'ala District. Our education materials focussed on Mantella poison frogs and flying foxes at Moramanga where we work with the local NGO called ACCE. In Anosibe An'ala we project our own film about flying foxes to rural villages where we have been working with a local NGO called Association Mbarakaly to conserve bat roosts.
